The Art of Story Telling: Aerial Dance Workshop

Join us for The Art of Story Telling: Aerial Dance Workshop presented by Alyssa Tanner, aerial instructor, artist

Learn about story telling techniques, tips and tools:

• from moves to choreography,
• from choosing a music to building musicality,
• from body language and facial expressions to acting,
• from make-up and costuming to full character transformation.

This Workshop would be useful to those who are working on developing OWN routines and choreographies, solo competition pieces or simply what to learn more about character and act development.

The workshop will be focused on aerial silks.

Prerequisites: none (although minimum aerial experience is recommended)

Workshop Length: 1,5

Ages: 10 and up

Workshop outline:

Workshop is divided into 2 blocks: theoretical and practical 45 min each.

Theoretical (45 min):

1. Presentation and visualization of material (all presentation equipment and materials provided)

2. Open Mic discussion and brainstorming

3. Worksheet assignment

From theory to practice.

Practical (45 min)

1. Creative movement warm up

2. Self-expression though art of silk dance (performing the complete assignment)

3. Sequencing and aerial routine presentation
